Amine‐Terminated PAN Membranes as Anion‐Adsorber Materials
نویسندگان
چکیده
Anion-adsorbing membranes provide an interesting possibility to remove toxic arsenate and chromate from drinking water. A promising way prepare anion-exchange materials is introduce positively charged amine groups on polymers. In this study, polyacrylonitrile (PAN) ultrafiltration were modified with functionalities the membranes. The success of modifications was demonstrated using infrared spectroscopy zeta potential measurements. Additionally, adsorption analyzed. membrane showed 5 times higher than pristine PAN membrane.

Functionalized and Electrospun Polymeric Materials as High-Performance Membranes for Direct Methanol Fuel Cell: A Review
Proton exchange membranes (PEM) for a direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) have main drawbacks which are methanol permeability, reduced proton conductivity and the cost of the membrane. This paper reviews different polymeric materials such as fluorinated, non-fluorinated, acid-base complex, and composite membranes for DMFC. Currently, nonfluorinated membranes gain a lot of atte...
متن کاملPreparation and characterization of nano-porous Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) membranes with hydrophilic surface
Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) membranes with nano-porous surface and high hydrophilicity were fabricated by addition of polyoxyethylene (40) nonylphenyl ether (IGEPAL) as an additive in the casting solution. The membranes were prepared from PAN/IGEPAL/1-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) via phase inversion induced by immersion precipitation technique. Pure water was used as coagulation medium. The effects o...

متن کاملBarrier Membranes — Materials Review Part II
In part one of this two-part series on barrier membrane materials, a review of different types of barrier membranes was discussed, along with a breakdown of various features of each barrier material type and a discussion of the clinical applications best suited to each. As discussed in last month’s issue, the restoration of structure and function of bone and peridontium has been aided significa...
متن کاملFlexoelectricity in soft materials and biological membranes
Flexoelectricity and the concomitant emergence of electromechanical size-effects at the nanoscale have been recently exploited to propose tantalizing concepts such as the creation of “apparently piezoelectric” materials without piezoelectric materials, e.g. graphene, emergence of “giant” piezoelectricity at the nanoscale, enhanced energy harvesting, among others. The aforementioned developments...
